Atlanta

I took so many pictures while in Atlanta that I decided it needed it's own post. We went because Randy needed to attend a conference to get CE hours. We tossed around the idea if him going to something alone, but that didn't seem like much fun. And Jacob really wanted to fly on an airplane (he doesn't remember his only other plane ride to Louisville because he was only 15 months old). However, I really wasn't looking forward to taking Hannah (and all of the stuff you need for a 9/10 month old) on the plane. So, Memaw agreed to watch her while we went. Jacob had so much fun and was even better behaved than I had hoped!

I already showed some of the pictures of the plane ride up there, so I'll pick up from there.

Memaw does a good job of keeping me informed on what she and Hannah are doing. Here, mom is trying to check her email, with Hannah's help.



And this was Friday morning. She tried to convince me that they had too much fun the night before and were in jail. With Hannah, I'd believe it!


First thing we did on Friday morning was hit up the Atlanta Aquarium. It's the largest in the world and was pretty cool. Jacob liked it but it wasn't his favorite.

This was a tunnel to the other side of an aquarium. It looks cute but I didn't get any fish in the picture to prove this was an aquarium!

After the aquarium, we found a park and played. He had fun, but it wasn't his favorite.


Then we had lunch.


Back home, Hannah enjoyed some scrambled eggs.


And had her toe nails painted. NOT an easy job!!


That night, we found a parking lot carnival and played a little. He liked this, as he does a parking lot carnivals, but not his favorite.














Saturday was Hannah's 10 month birthday. We cheated a little and took this before we left on Thursday.


Back in Atlanta, we went on a big Ferris wheel/gondola thing called Skyview. It was almost 200 feet tall and you could see a lot. Randy was a little scared but Jacob and I thought it was cool.





Olympic park (from the 1996 summer games) was right across the street.


See, Randy was scared and would not let me move around...any.


Jacob was fine.

Then we stumbled upon a Veteran's Day parade. Jacob liked the motorcycles, but they weren't his favorite.


And, we did the Atlanta Children's Museum, which he liked and was almost his favorite.








Last, we rode a train called the Pink Pig.


Meanwhile, Hannah was back home getting spoiled and rocked to sleep for her nap.


If you look closely at this picture, you can see Jacob napping. He was exhausted and was even able to nap in the same room as Randy watching an Aggie football game.


So, what was his favorite part? If you ask him, even today, his favorite part of the entire trip was wearing an astronaut helmet, in the Houston airport, on our way to collect our bags. He only wore it for 5 seconds but he is STILL talking about it. Crazy kid!!
