Goodbye bone cyst, hello screws

Well, Nancy is back home now after her surgery. She has some good drugs, so she is staying pretty comfortable as long as she keeps it elevated. She basically had to have the bone cyst burred out and filled with cadaver bone (thanks to this guy for the generous donation)

...to stimulate her own bone to fill it in and strengthen it. Then, the doctor placed two screws across the bone to support it and keep it from fracturing. Here are the post-op x-rays:

After Nancy got out of the hospital, she tried to unwrap her foot to see her stitches. You can see by this picture that wasn't a great idea. You can also tell that, because of the great pain meds she is on, in combination with the beer she is drinking, it didn't really bother her much.

The worst part of this for her is that she can't go to The Fitz on a daily basis anymore to check up on it.

If nothing falls through, we will be closing on the sale of our house a week from today.

About 3 weeks til we close on The Fitz.
